A fun, lighthearted romp with two adorable and sexy male leads.

Regis McHale is a History professor who has never played a video game in his life. But his pregnant cousin Penny is uncomfortable and overdue and the only thing keeping her sane while she waits for her baby to arrive is playing the video game Dead Knights at Castle Kill.

Having reached a difficult level in the game and been rewarded with a special code, she sends Regis to the game store to redeem it on her behalf. Regis is so far out of his element that when Mars, the drop dead gorgeous sales assistant, rambles on about the game, Regis nods and agrees to everything. That he too is a red level wizard in the game, and in a moment of panic, he agrees to go with Mars to the gaming convention a few weekends hence.

Not wanting to lose Mars, Regis continues to lie about his gaming credentials on a few further dates. But once Mars finds out he lied, will he lose him anyway?

This was a wonderful little gem of a book, short enough to read in one sitting, which I did, grinning at quite a few parts.

Regis almost swoons when he meets Mars, and the author described him so well, I was almost swooning myself. The book pokes a bit of fun at the gaming community, but it's done in a lighthearted way and doesn't seem malicious. I have feeling the author may be a gamer, too. I do play some video games, but wouldn't really say I was a gamer per se, as I usually play on the easy settings and have never even attempted a nightmare setting.

Mars and Regis play off each other wonderfully and their banter was a joy to read. You can sense their attraction immediately and the unresolved sexual tension sizzles between them for a while before they finally get together. And to say that scene was hot, hardly does it justice. My computer screen almost melted.

It was sweet, romantic, sexy and peppered with humour throughout. A feel good book that will leave you grinning from ear to ear, even once you've finished it.
