She is also the first author to pen a story about an aging African American woman and a younger Japanese Pop star in modern day Japan. She also was called, "A writer before her time" when she elequently wrote a romantic short story featuring a transgender Asian male lead.

Her Asian male leads and her ability to go where no author has dared to go before in books featuring characters in an interracial relationship is fastly giving her a niche in this fastly growing genre.
