Beverley Eikli wrote her first romance novel when she was seventeen. However, drowning the heroine on the last page (p550!) was, she discovered, not in the spirit of the genre so her romance-writing career ground to a halt and she became a journalist.
Throwing in her secure job to manage a luxury safari lodge in the Okavango Delta, in Botswana later led her into a new world of romance and adventure. The night before she was due to fly home to her boyfriend of eight years she met her future husband - a handsome Norwegian bush pilot - around a camp fire and traded city life for a thatched cottage in a mopane forest.
Seventeen years later, after exploring the world in the back of Cessna 404s and CASA 212s during low-level survey sorties over the French Guyanese jungle and Greenland's ice cap, Beverley is back in Australia living a more conventional life with her husband and two daughters in a pretty country town an hour north of Melbourne.
She writes Regency Historicals as Beverley Eikli, sensual historicals as Beverley Oakley and is currently working on an illicit diamond trading thriller set in Lesotho, the country of her birth, during the early 1960s.
When Beverley was a child she loved to climb trees, read girls' adventure stories and make mud pies in her best clothes.
Using her mud pie-making skills, she helped build the family's grand mud brick manor, Bronte Manor B&B, amidst the vineyards of the Clare Valley, SA. She still loves climbing trees, writing exciting love stories and making beautiful clothes but instead of mud bricks, she makes chocolate pies.
Can their love surpass the secrets Gabe has and the Mongrels' evil plans?
They're in danger from the Mongrels. Will their relationship be over before it starts?
